The Season of Fails

"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair, we had everything before us, we had nothing before us, we were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way – in short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil, in the superlative degree of comparison only." (by C. Dickens)

What I am trying to say with this long quotation from a novel I have never read (sorry, Dickens sounds a bit depressing for my personal taste. But that doesn't mean I won't ever read it. My reading preferences are in constant change.) is that fall TV has been a bit of a roller coaster. There are some very impressive shows that right from the start have made me want to see more and more and more and... you get the picture, I'm sure. And then there are those I just can't stand because they are so mean to the viewers. They make me cry. And then there are those that simply are blah! and I while I'm watching, I'm constantly wondering if I might be wasting my time... Lastly, there are those who are so exiting I can't stand to watch them.

To the last group, I will have to put Sons of Anarchy this season. I dare not watch it as it is so fucked up. I'm very much invested in these characters and as it is the final season, K. Sutter might kill off a lot of them. I' afraid, I'm very afraid.

Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, Arrow, now Flash are those I can't wait to see. The season openings have been very strong and captivating. Can't wait for next week and the week after that. They make me believe there's still hope in TV-land. They do know how to make good TV.

Bones made me cry when it came back. I was sad and angry at the same time. I haven't watched the last two episodes, because I'm emotionally afraid to. I will do a marathon at some point. Maybe when the shows start going on breaks. I still have to watch the last season of Grimm, before the new one begins. I'm so behind with my obligations as an avid TV watcher. Damn my procrastination abilities.

Gotham is still very iffy for me. I have watched it constantly at the moment, but as M. Lieberman said on SourceFedNerd (You can watch the episode here: Gotham Vs. The Flash), if it doesn't get any more interesting or better, it won't last. I think I said the same in me previous post about the pilot being a fail.

I have watched Castle, The Big Bang Theory, Franklin & Bash, Grey's Anatomy - just because I have made time for them. I'm not that intrigued with them, not as much as the show writers and maker would want an audience member to be. I could stop and it would be fine by me.

A new show I discovered simply by accident is the Manhattan Love Story. I was trying to watch another shows pilot episode, but the links were not working, so I ended up watching a different show. At first I was annoyed that it wasn't what I clicked on, but I got over it. This show I pretty witty and good. Hope it lasts and doesn't get cancelled after five episodes. There are so many shows that get the axe before the season is complete. Does anyone know the show Cupid? I loved it and only got 7 episodes. Sad R.

Okay, done! I will not talk about TV anymore, not for a couple of weeks. I will maybe hint here or there how things are going, but that's all. I might post again today, a different post, different topic. Might not. Might do it on Tuesday.

Anyhow, luck to us all that fall TV-land keeps on going and I hope none of us loses a show we're fans of. :D
