Lyrics

Sometimes when I fail to find words to describe my feelings or the hurt I'm feeling, I use song lyrics. Songs are poems with music to illustrate the meaning behind the lines. There are millions of songs that can go with a million different emotions. Of course it's easy to write about hurt and pain and all those negative emotions, because it's human nature to think about the dark things that might never really happen. Okay, I'm just filling space here without any real meaning. I'm talking about lyrics, because recently I've really focused on them. I listen to music most of the time. Whenever I need to go anywhere or just have time to kill, I plug in my headphones and listen to music. It's no secret that I listen to rock music, which, in my opinion, has the best meaningful lyrics.

What are the most meaningful lyrics talking about? Of course they are talking about failed romances and broken hearts. That's the one topic that doesn't seem to ever be done enough. And I agree, because everyone of us gets his or her heart broken more than once. Mine had been broken and put back together plenty of times. I guess the problem with me is that I don't believe in true love. It simply doesn't exist. I can't believe that among the 7 billion people that live on this planet, there is just one other person that is supposed to be my perfect match. If that is true, the chance of meeting him is close to 4 billion to one. That's a rough estimate. So, I try to believe that the guy I'm dating might be right for me and that after him there will be no one else, but I'm realistic and even though I might make some fantasy plans about the future, I also try to keep in mind that it might not work out.

Back to lyrics then. Songs I really love to listen to over and over:
1. 12 Stones - "Broken Road", "For The Night"
2. J. Gordon - "Slept So Long"
3. Hoobastank - "I Don't Think I Love You Anymore"
4. The Pretty Reckless - "You"; "Make Me Wanna Die"; "Miss Nothing"
5. Halestorm - "In Your Room"; "Private Parts"; "Love Bites"
6. Korn - "Right Now"
7. Slipknot - "Vermillion pt 2"
8. Breaking Benjamin - "Away"; "Firefly"; "Dear Agony"; "Blow Me Away"
etc

The list is endless. I just wanted to put down some songs I really adore. So, now it's your turn: tell me what song's lyrics are meaningful for you. Let's get a discussion going and share some good music between us. I'd like to get to know some new bands and I bet you would too. So, post a comment about your favorites and let's talk music.
